CANARY ISLANDS
(Islas Canarias)

The Canarian archipelago is situated 70 miles off the northwest coast of Africa in the Atlantic ocean. It is made up of seven islands: Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.

TENERIFE
(Islas Canarias)
Tenerife is the largest island of the group with an area 786 square miles and almost 250 miles circumference. With some 700,000 inhabitants, its existence is due to volcanic eruptions of the volcano, Teide, creating great dropoffs with deep ocean floors.

The island is situated at the same latitude as Florida or the north of Egypt, it is 40 miles from Gran Canaria, 20 miles from La Gomera and 650 miles away from the Spanish Peninsular.

In the centre of the island there is a series of peaks, Las Cañadas, the highest of which is "El Teide" with a height of 12,200 feet, the highest point in Spain.

Our base is in Puerto Colon, a marina in Costa Adeje, on the south coast of the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. We fish the waters to the southwest of Tenerife, towards the islands of La Gomera and El Hierro. The richness of these waters allows us to drop lures immediately as we leave the port, and we have caught various Blue Marlin with weights up to 302 Kgs (664 Lbs.) as close as a half mile from the marina.
